					<description>I don't remember. You can use generic diode tester with laser diode to find anode and cathode. I experimented with square one for very short time- i damaged it and never found another one. As I can see from image- power lines are with thicker PCB traces.

In computer DVD there are two laser diodes: one IR for CD and one red for DVD. If it is writable device, the laser diodes are high power ones.</description>

But what pins do you connected the power supply to on the laser diode.
Because I have a similar diode.
And did you also had 2 diodes in 1 dvd burner.

BTW which dvd laser diode is better (this one ore the round one).
